Dave Pamenter 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2012 Kevin, what is the best way to send a couple of fly's thru the post? Get you a supply of Altoids tins. I put foam in the bottom of mine for noise. Aslo I get the envelopes from the Dollar Store. I'm tight or at least my family thinks. Kevin Kevin, I had to google what Altoid Tins were.............lol, will find something similar, thanks for that. Dont they sell that candy there.? Kevin They do but only in specialist sweets stores that cater exclusively to American sweets and guess what, its no where near me.........lol
fishnuts 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2012 Nice work Dave. Here's a couple of different ones for you to see, I don't want to detract from your flies I just thought I'd show you some of the different styles and colours you can play with. Keep up the good work. Cheers Dazz
Dave Pamenter 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2012 Thanks Dazz, they are awesome looking flies, wish I could tie a tenth as good as that..........lol...........just need more practice. I got the procedure and proportions a little better on subsequent flies, in fact just finished a few to send off to Kevin (eastern fly). Here is an example. on completing this one I still thought the feelers were still a little long so I trimmed them off a bit more, looks way better. fishnuts 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2012 Dave they are definitely looking better, if you keep the feelers about 1 1/2 times the hook shank length from the start you won't have to trim them. I'm sure they'll catch your mate some fish. Keep up the good work. Eastern fly, Sorry mate but work has me tied down at the moment, maybe next swap. Cheers Dazz
