I know how to present these flies with a western rod, how do you present these flies with a Tenkara rod?

The same as you do with a western rod. I also use these with my 3 wt and 4 wt.

Those might be charlies but not clousers. They look good, but the eyes are too forward and they aren't tied with bucktail.

 

One word of interest ... I used to tie in large bundles of synthetic hair like that. I think it gets caught in the fish's "teeth" and I seemed to miss more hook sets. If you are getting good, solid hits, and not getting penetration with the hook, that might be the problem.

Clousers do NOT need to be tied with only Bucktails.

They are actually neither a clouser or a charlie. I just decided to call them a Tenkara Clouser. I also tie some on a 200R hook that I call panfish charlies but, I use squirrel tail or even kip tail for the wings on those. The ones I posted here are tied with Lambs Wool as the wing.
