Curtis Fry 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2013 Hopefully this might help a few of you trying to get into the tying scene a bit. We have created and continue to contribute to a series of "fly tying for beginners" type videos and how-to write-up's on a blog (in addition to the other tutorials and posts we do). I realize FTF has some great resources as well, but anyway, just in case anyone is interested. www.flyfishfood.com Go to the "Fly Tying 101 Classes" link there. streamcaddis 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2013 I sure wish I had the internet back in the 60's, it would of come handy. I learned to tie flies from Carl Richards here in Grand Rapids in the late 60'sor early 70's. My daughter gave me her old computer from college in the late 70's if I remember right. I have been on line ever since. The fly tying materials have sure gotten better over the years. Back then you had to go to the family's farm chicken coop and look for feathers. I love the idea you search the internet you tube. I think al we had back then was Herter's and a place out East to order materials from, Im was born about 30 years too early..
