conehead 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 I called the new Cabelas store in Hamburg, PA. The guy told me they had a boatload (about 800 boxes) of hooks arrive about 3 weeks ago. Great prices. He checked the bin for me and said there is about 20 boxes left. Bummer, Bummer, Bummer It's about a 1 hour drive, I'll pass. He checked the supply log on his computer, and said it showed 0 stock left. Said he thinks they have already placed another order and the supplier has no more stock. Guess I'll call back every couple of days to check. What's wrong with fly tiers? We spend $200- $800 on a fly rod, $150-$300 on a reel, $1000 on waders, boots, vest and chest pack, gortex coats that we can't wear anywhere else, and we are so stinking cheap, we scarf road kill so we can save $3.99 at the fly shop and drive an hour to by 1000 hooks.
