SCOwens 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Made it out with a friend to throw at some docklights, in hopes of finding some Speckled Sea Trout. Well we found some, even took a few pictures to share. They ate a synthetic fiber minnow with a lot of flash. The eyes only lasted one fish but they still ate it the whole night. The flies I used, got the most action on the 2nd fly. Caught a nice assortment of fish, trout and baby bluefish Testing out the new Sage 7wt, in casts beautifully. I think I would rather have a less expensive reel and a expensive rod, this picture obviously demonstrates this haha. The fly at the end of the night ... Chomp Chomp Hope to get out again very soon before our water temp decreases much more
Piker20 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 You'll only need the expensive reel when you start hooking the big ones Only kidding. Good night fishing

Capt Bob LeMay 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Fishing docklights is a staple for my anglers when we're doing night charters.... The only thing that changes are the species and the time of year. I'd bet that docklights from Maine to Key West (and everywhere in-between) are well worth a look in warmer weather. If you're down in south Florida where I am docklights are a year 'round proposition.... Great night, great pics, enjoyed the report...
