miketheknife 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2013 Looking for 1/120 oz and 1/100 oz jig heads to tie some crappie flies for spring. Thanks, Mike
Christopher K 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2013 ever tried tying beads on with a pin? It's what a lot of guys (including myself) use for steelhead jigs, might be a little easier to find. But if you're dead set on the pre made ones I think BPS has them.
phg 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2013 Jig hooks with beads work about as well. If you can find slotted beads, that's even better. I like the jig hooks with the 60 degree bend. Finding hooks that are size 6, and smaller, is a challenge, though. This is a 60 degree bend, smallest is size 4 http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/flipping-jig-hooks/820120.aspx This is a 90 degree end, sizes 6 and 8 are available. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/eagleclaw-aberdeen-jig-hooks/820109.aspx There are others, if you browse the hooks catalog. As stated above, BPS does carry a few small jig heads, and I've used them some. http://www.basspro.com/White-River-Fly-Shop-Fly-Fishing-Jig-Heads/product/3085/ The 1/80 oz and 1/128 oz size are on a size 10 hook. The 1/64 is on a size 8 hook. They're OK, but I'd about as soon put a bead on a Mustad 9671 or 9672.

mybadhabit 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 There is a guy on ebay that sells size 10 and 12 1/100oz jig head hooks at a really great price, but I can't remember the name. It was the cheapest price I found on the web. I think the name was Bob Craven. Blane
Capt Bob LeMay 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2013 Here's the retail side of an outfit that does all my jigheads .... lurepartsonline.com I've had great results from them ordering by the 100 or the 1000... If you contact them directly they may be able to do almost any jig you can imagine with the exact hooks you want. If they don't have it -they'll make it but you'll see substantial additional costs for proto types and items that require a new mold as part of their production..
