Fly Tying

Recommended Posts

Been working on a partner website that may be of interest to Readers... this one is called Stocker Trout Fishing. Still working on different things so it is still a work in progress but at this point the information may be of use to some who have been following this thread.

Made it to the local pond for Trout; no luck fly fishing but did get one strike on a Gold Super Duper. Did see a Trout caught on a Bubble Fly Rig!

Sent a report to the Web Admin at StockerTroutFishing.com; looks like it's posted as well as info about River Park's Trout Stocking in Fort Worth. Good info about River Park; I recall the Trinity River Water District typically stock larger trout compared to TPWD.

For those in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, info may be of interest to someone wanting to hook a larger trout than the typical 9"-11" ones release by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department!

Found a dry fly pattern that worked at the local pond this afternoon. Needed to bring a net and charge the camera battery up more... posted report/video. No action shots, battery died right when we found the right fishing fly! Also, had trouble landing the trout without a net, tended to pull the hook out when lifting the them out of the water.

Only two on a quick trip to the local pond this evening. One went for a Supe Duper. Other went for a fishing fly. Did miss several others using the fishing fly; missed the hook set. Report/Video.

Raining in our area still... did some scouting around via phone and received fishing updates from several areas that may be of interest to some Readers (in Texas or Oklahoma) for this weekend. Hopefully, when things clear up! Today's Post.

No Trout Fishing today; did fish a feeder creek and played with the little Bluegill/Sunfish using a 3wt and Soft Hackles and Tiny Midges (same used on the Blue River, OK when the midge hatch is happening). Today's Post/Video.

Braved the cold temps today; even had to break ice from the rod guides at one point. Two of us limited out at a small pond today. One used PowerBait and an Ultralight; the other used a BH GREHN and a 4wt Fly Rod. Fun Stuff! Today's Video.
