Fishin Fool

Hello to all. Allow me to introduce myself. I am a fishing nut. During the winter months, I am a high school science teacher. Summer time-a fishing machine. Any form of fishing I enjoy. I run a charter boat in the summer for Great Lakes trolling, we caught 720 fish last summer. If the water is choppy, we bass fish, or fly fish for bookies. I usually make it out of the annual carp shoot blast-o-rama. Fall- steelhead on the rivers, whitefish off the breakwalls. Winter- steelhead and browns through the ice as well as panfish, pike and of all things else-smelt and lake trout through the ice. Spring- more steelhead, in the rivers, off the breakwalls and on the beach. Some times i can fit in some bass fishing both on rivers or on lakes.

My favorite fish to catch are steelhead and smallmouth. Eating- i eat lots of panfish, coho, and occasionally a burbot. (fresh water cod-only get them ice fishing for lake trout)

I'm very fortunate to live right on lake michigan in Ludington. Ludington is semi famous for being the mouth of the Pere Marquette river. I have owned more watercraft that cars in my life so far. My addiction began as a three year old with a willow branch and some line and hook catching bluegill from a pond. As I've gotten older, my favorite means of fishing is by trolling the great Lakes. However, winds blow and storms form so then I usually take to the river. My old college friends and I still do steelhead camp the way most people do deer camp. It's usually 3-5 days of fishing with a camp out in the middle of no-where.

Anyways- I'm taking some students up to Boundry Waters Minnesota for a canoe camp. I plan on fly fishing for pike and bass. If anyone knows of any money flies besides the standard bunny leach, mega divers, Clousers and Decievers- let me know
