Bunching at hook eye

Recommended Posts

There it is. The reason I do not have, and have no intention of taking on a "significant other". They want to tell you what to do all the time, will not listen to reason, yet take no responsibility when it goes wrong. Had a belly full of the "of course you're wrong... you're male" attitude. NAWALTs either don't exist or are as rare as unicorns, if they do.

At least when my wife catches a trout I can always say

Behind that great trout, was a great fly...... tied by a great man!!!!

When I tie the Gold Ribbed Hares Ear the vacant space behind the eye is invaluable. I don't tie a wing case but spin a loop and wind it for a thorax....you can have a real mess if the space won't allow you to manipulate the material at the eye with sa thread base. With the bare space behind the eye, simply lock in the noodle and grab hold of the material with your thumb and forefinger and pull back along the shank exposing the bare shank and finish with some tidy up wraps.
