  1. Congrats. Nothing like finally getting your first one on the fly. I will never forget mine.
  2. That's what I love about fly tying you are always learning. I tied up the shrimp pattern you posted. They look sexy.
  3. Maybe I live under a rock but I have never seen anyone use mono with a bead rather then just melt the mono into a ball. I love it. I will definitely implament this into my fly tying. Thanks for the great idea. Nice ties too. I will be tying that shrimp pattern that thing is sexy.
  4. I really like the shrimp in the last pic. If you dont mind when you get some time could you post a few more pics of that. Nice ties
  5. I received a email about my previous mud minnow fly on my blog. He wanted to give me a few suggestions on how to improve the fly. I applied what he had mentioned and I feel the fly is much better now. http://flytyingyakfisherman.blogspot.com/
  6. Awesome those are some nice reds. Looks like I will be tying me some big head Cactus Charlie. Is that a local fly or something that has been used all over the place. I don't see why it wouldn't work here in NC
  7. really like those shrimp patterns. Drag them across the bottom real slow and they could second as crabs
  8. That is pretty sweet needs to go in a frame or something
  9. I know Im not very active on here do to having so many local forums I participate on. Its hard to keep up with them all. I have been looking for a crab pattern to use in the grass for reds. I have found some descent patterns but last night I found the one for me. I have tied this pattern using strands of yarn but I wasn't satisfied with the looks of it. EP fiber works great for this pattern. I cant wait to pole around in some flooded grass and drop this fly right in front of a Red.
  10. I have got some good patterns from Matt wirt He is a local guide here in Wilmington, NC Here is his site http://saltwaterflytying.blogspot.com/
  11. You got a deal! When you head over to Western NC, North GA or TN. let me know and I can get you on some trout! Alright sounds good
