Lashing out as Winter refuses to release it's icy grip, decided to tie some summer flies. Doesn't take long to fill up the box with these.

hook - Dai Riki 320 #14

thread - MFC 8/0 sand

rib - tying thread

body - dubbing tan/hare's ear/antron mix

hackle - barred cream

wing/head - Congo Hair tan

legs - centipede small barred tan/black

mash barb, start thread one eye width back from eye, leave tag end long (for rib)

tie in hackle (dull side up) over front of hook; wrap thread to bend

dub thread/dub body

wrap hackle back to the bend; capture tip with rib

rib through hackle; tie off/trim

trim hackle flat on top

tie in CH; fold over and tie back on itself, creating a little head

tie in legs; half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim legs and wing (even with bend); push the wing down a bit at the base with your thumbnail to widen the profile

you can leave it like that, but since these bugs are aquatically challenged, flush-floaters, cleaning out the undercarriage gets it down in the film
