mikechell 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2017 I'll admit, that's as simple a spider as possible, I think. I'll also admit, that may be the perfect spider for mimicking these ... ... which are EVERYWHERE in our Central Florida waterways.

Willie Rip 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2017 Rich, because I fish for food not for sport. It's a system of fishing similar to how walleye fishermen use a crawler harness with beads and a spinner blade tipped with a nightcrawler. The lure is just that: a lure designed to add vibration and visual elements to draw fish in from a further distance to investigate, then offer them real food to make them bite. The lure makes for an artificial chum. Striper fishermen do this as well: They'll add an eel or shad to a bucktail jig. I'm using the best elements of both to make a fishing system that will stock my freezer. Again I am not a sport fisherman. I don't even use rod and reel. I handline only and troll and drift fish 97% of the time. The reasons I fish dictate different tactics. There is another reason: It stimulates discussion. If I had just posted another bluegill spider pattern, would you have asked the question? In other words the whole point of a discussion board is to stimulate talk using different methods and such. The same old thing means the forum is dead because no new ideas are being presented.

Flat Rock native 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2017 Rock, I don't quite follow. Try for some video of the real spider... It has interesting movements, based on your narrative, would like to see more of the bug and this rig in action...
Willie Rip 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2017 Rock, yes. I'd like to get some video of the creature. It will be September before they come out.
