Will K 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2011 I'm suffering brain freeze. I'm considering a new reel for a 4wt. I'd narrowed it down to a Colton CRGII, which got glowing reviews from both a web forum I "consulted" and a few friends... but one friend emailed that I should go with a Lamson Konic. Both look like great reels. The Lamson though I could get at Cabelas using a bunch of cabelas points I have and pay about half price for the reel as a result... that's a serious selling point. That said, I'm curious if any of you have experience with these reels and how you like them. It's funny, prior to seeing my friends email, I was all over the colton... gpd4 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2011 I have a Lamson Konic on a 9wt. I think the drag set-up could stop a small car back... I know nothing about Colton. My 4wt has a $40 Cabelas reel on it and I've never regretted it. The drag has been more than sufficient for bass up to 4lbs and trout in the 24" neighborhood.
