  1. I just picked up a sage bass II rod peacock. It comes with a 390 gr. line. It's only 7' 11" long....very stiff and fast action. Unbelievable how long this thing throws. I would highly recommend this rod. I've fished with it a few times had one pike on a 10" streamer. This rod works great from a boat but has enough back bone to chuck from shore wading with no problem at all...best part is if there is wind, it seems to cast better then rods of 10' or 11'.
  2. I have a Helios for one season now...It to me is by far the best fly rod ever to be in my hands. I have fished sage...reddington...sci angler...st croix...just to name a few. I've tried the Helios 2 at my local shop just to see for myself. IMO....I thought it was the same rod with only two differences, 1. It's blue and has the number 2 on it. 2. It DID FEEL STIFFER to me when i threw a few clousers in the parking lot...but I STILL LOVE MY HELIOS!....
  3. Try a gold bead....and mayb a flashback as a wing case...even some soft hackle brownish color...tied in downward...top fly in my nymph box!!!
  4. I would love to try them out...they look great. Please send me a pm and ill give u my mailing address....thank you in advance
  5. I prefer the gold ribbed hares ear...maybe a small flashback thrown in. I have only tried the hares ear...march brown...march brown spider...and soft hackle. Imo...i like it best for its natural look and presentation. I live in long island NY, and rght now have really only been fishing that with great success. Good luck...tight lines!
