dsmacleod 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2015 Hey there. I started tying about a year ago, mainly steelhead flies for fishing Salmon River in New York. Now I live back in Maine, where I'm from originally, and I tie a lot of trout, striper and bass flies. My favorite species to fish for is trout. I want to catch a steelhead on the swing this fall. I'm currently learning how to tie smaller flies — mostly midges and little dries. Always looking for tips on tying better flies, more efficiently. Anyone in Maine? Would love to meet up to tie. mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2015 Looks like some neat little gnats, DS. Welcome to the site. Depending on where you are in Maine ... you might be close to the Kittery Trading Post, which is just South of Portland. Great fly tying section downstairs ... and it wouldn't surprise me if they run some kind of tying event there.
