  9. frogs work great on just about any fish I see alot of green frogs posted by everybody but I use a brown tree frog pattern on big brookies right after a good rain and it seems to work better then anything I have used I will try to get a pic up later
  10. like mike said try maybe a bit smaller fly especially the mouse pattern I have noticed they are usually tied very large and I was having problems with it being to big

  12. my vice has the screw adjust jaws and I like it but a friend of mine loaned me a cam lever vice and it works good too

I agree with jz deer hair to start with is like a teacher fresh out of college teaching brain surgery start off like jz said and go in a steady progression including some foam poppers for bass before you hit the deer hair fly tying is more like a marathon then a 20 yard dash so pace yourself and enjoy the addiction don't rush in and overdose :hyst: :hyst: :yahoo: :yahoo:

  16. recieved my flies today awesome ties everyone can't wait my uncle said the trout are holding up around 8 feet of water at burgess pond so gonna head to grayling next week :headbang: thanks for hosting stony as always a pleasure swapping with all of you :yahoo:

  21. most of my poppers I tie are on wide gap popper hooks from dai-riki
  22. the hair on the mouse looks like it could of been packed tighter and both could be trimmed a bit more and with a razor instead of just sissors but both are excellent attempts and will catch fish
