  3. 4wt is perfect myself I use an orvis 6'6" 4wt on streams and creeks to clear the tough stuff I encounter but sounds like you got a great deal so go with it and good luck and welcome to the addiction
  4. as soon as mark's flies get here I will be sending them out same day prolly tomorrow or tuesday

  9. might look into trying to confront him I know some corrections departments have a program that allows family members to sit and talk to the person that commited the crime it might bring you some clousure to just get what your feeling off your chest

  12. most craws are tied tail to the eye of the hook due to its natural swiming motion but I tie a few the way you di and fish them really slow on the bottom to mimic its natural walking motion so I would say its fine
  13. hmm midland is only 40 minutes away looks like a fish fry ready to happen
  14. started tying in 78 for my dad then figured out I could either con him into buying me a fly rod or charge him for my flies he chose the first and I been hooked ever since now dad is dead so I have to buy my own gear but I still love it and in some way it makes me feel close to him
  15. welcome to the site there are many people who can teach you a few things here
  16. craft foam and silli legs are a must have materials for both panfish and bass flies
  17. works great if you rough them up a bit with 400 grit sand paper and finish coat them with flex seal

  21. might try a bit longer tail also it does help it track better
