  1. Good looking fly. I'll have to take a good look at it in a few days. Might do some fly trading when I see you.
  2. Paul what can I say other than that's a great job you have done. Just a beautiful fly.
  3. If I'm going for trout it would be a simple black and white marabou streamer. Caught lots of trout on that thing. Top water would be the Dave's Hopper. I know that's two flies but just couldn't help myself.
  4. Looks like a winner to me. I'll take a dozen.
  5. The instructions for this fly is located at http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=52352
  6. Place thread on needle as shown with thread in material holder. Wrap thread back over embroidery thread as shown. Remove thread from material holder and wrap around embroidery thread. Take bobbin and tie down this loose end and tie off with a whip finish or knot of chose. Turn vise away from yourself. This weave is just a simple overhand knot or grannie knot. Tie this knot the same way every time. If you do, it will alternate the color and spiral the tail. Pull the thread tight and turn the knot as shown. This tail takes 20 knots to get the length. Remove from needle and trim ends as shown. Place on hook and tie down and cut excess material. Tie in Foam and eyes as shown Stack deer hair and cut to the length of wing you want. Tie down with tips facing to back of hook. Take scissor tips or something and divide hair and pull foam between hair and tie down. Take foam and place over eyes. Tie down and finish off head
  7. The flies were mailed today. I put a few extra bugs in the box for you.
  8. Bugs are ready for shipment. Need address. Floyd
  9. Here's an idea that might work. This's the cheapest way I can think of to make eyes. Just take a drop of finger nail polish and place it on a piece of release paper. You know the paper that's on the back of stickers. The polish will self level and when it's dry place a smaller dot in the center. After it dries the eye will come off the release paper very easily. The ones here in the photo are pretty rough as I haven't got the hang of it quite yet.
  10. Got the flies today. Sure a good looking bunch of flies I received. Thanks Ian for hosting. Hope to be in another swap with you in the future. Floyd
  11. Glad to hear that Sam is doing well. Looks like he's enjoying that popsicle. Catch you later. Floyd
  12. The flies have arrived here in the desert. Looks like we have a hand full of bluegill killers. Thanks Randall for hosting. Floyd
  13. I've been working on my E-Z Beetle and have made some improvements to it. So I'll be in with the new improved E-Z Beetle.
  14. Welcome. Lots of information here. If you don't see it just ask. I used to be from Michigan. Two of my favorite places to fish were the South Branch of the Au Sable river and lake St. Clair.

    Cactus Flowers

Most of the cactus just bloom once a year as the one in my yard. Most of the spring flowers are gone now. The Saguaro cactus are just starting to bloom now. I'll be posting the Beetle pattern in the data base soon.

  22. At the Saturday night tent revival the preacher announces, "Anyone with 'needs' to be prayed over, come forward, to the front at the altar." Leroy gets in line, and when it's his turn, the preacher asks: "Leroy, what do you want me to pray about for you?" Leroy replies: "Preacher, I need you to pray for help with my hearing." The preacher puts one finger in Leroy's ear, and he places the other hand on top of Leroy's head and prays and prays and prays, he prays a blue streak for Leroy. After a few minutes, the Preacher removes his hands, stands back and asks, "Leroy, how is your hearing now?" Leroy says, "I don't know, Reverend, it ain't 'til next Wednesday."
  23. Are you asking us to tie 14 or 15 flies?
