QUOTE (SmallieHunter @ Oct 29 2003, 03:52 PM) The only negative is he only sells natural fur so you gotta dye it yourself, but I have learned it a very easy process and you can really customize your colors to best suit your needs. I just had a look and he does sell dyed stuff, the only negative I see is that he doesn't do internation orders shame really I liked the look and price of the bucktails. Ashley

My advice would be to take things slowly and keep things sparse. Along with what everyone else said. And practice. Ashley

I don't limit myself to the flies I use.I just end up using the same 6 or 7 patterns all season long where ever I'm fishing. Ashley

I believe line colour does matter. The rivers I fish are clear and a change to olive lines as made a difference. Also the way a line hits the water also makes a difference. Ashley

I haven't tried either because I use the fur from the mask for smaller hares ears and back fur for larger. Ashley

I work for a pine furniture company.I'm surposed to fix and polish the furniture but spend most of my time delivering it(get to look for roadkill) and check on the rivers where I fish during works time(along with planning fishing trips and drinking coffee). Gregor, hows the fishing in Slovenia?I'm going to the Soca next month. Ashley

I have a travelling tying kit which I take on all long range trips(Ireland,Slovenia and Cape Cod). This kit is in a orvis tying bag and saved many a trip. The contents change from trip to trip, the key is to take materials that are required for the flies that I'll be using. The same tools stay in the bag every thing else changes. Ashley

The dyes I've found to work on mallard breast is veniards, dylon(fabric),turmeric and onion skins. The last one results in a woodduck sub but thanks to Greyson I don't need it at the moment. Ashley

QUOTE (OSD @ Mar 15 2004, 05:48 PM) Is my Fly tying station the only one thats a mess? OSD. No,all these put mine to shame, its more of a tip than a tying bench.I've got a picture but its not on the 'puter yet. These benches are impressive. Ashley
