  1. So I just bought some UTC GSP and am loving it. It is a very strong thread and it really makes nice looking heads. I am going to cabellas tonight for the corn huskers fly tying club and I am going to buy some more. Really great thread.
  2. So I started fly tying a just a few short months ago. I haven't posted a lot of pics because I wasn't taking a lot. Well Monday night I was in a photo mood and took pictures of almost every fly I have ever made thus far. There are 95 photos and there so much easier to get into picassa than to get on a thread here but I still want feed back. You can kind of tell which fly's I made early on and which ones are more recent. I Love this hobby and hope you guys go take a look at them. http://picasaweb.google.com/MrWizard96/All...CPyt65Hh1svcYw# Here is one from the collection that I really like
  3. This is my not so wooly, wooly bugger Hook: I have no idea some long hook I had around Thread utc 70 black Tail Black Mariboo/flash Body sparkle black slef stick foam Thorax/head ultra chenille black
  4. Great I can't wait to see what you caught. You never know what will happen in the years to come for all I know I could win the Lotto :yahoo: oh wait I think you have to play to win :wallbash: Oh well.
  5. Can you post it on vimeo so I can watch it at work? YouTube is blocked but Vimeo is not.
  6. I love the fly but I want to know how you took that picture? What camera do you use and what settings do you use it on? Also what background are you using.
  7. http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?sho...10953&st=45 Why do none of the links work? This seems to be an issue that has persisted for quite some time. I am fairly new to tying and would love to download these and watch them but I am very disappointed as many others are as well that all we get when we try to download is the following error: ERROR: File not found. USE force-download.php?file=filepath Can this be fixed? If not you should remove the pinned topic as it is completely useless and nothing more than a tease. :ripped:
  8. Great tie. You didn't over do the tail (something I tend to do ) I like it post up your materials I would like to try it myself.
  9. Ok well maybe I am being over sensative. I just thingk links to google is not what people want, we all know how to use google. Or maybe that is my bad for making that assumption. If you guys think it is helpful then I will appologise and say no more. I don't want to make waves I love this forum and have learned more here than anywhwere else for tying fly's. the people here are awesome so I retract my earlier statement. (just write it off as one of those days) :dunno:
  10. I agree awesome post. Hey can the admin or mod make a copy of this thread over in the step by step so we have it there as well. That is where I search for cool stuff like this.
  11. I have been eyeing those pom poms and thinking the same thing. I am glad I am not the only one.
  12. Ha. Very nice . . . and a nice gesture. I'll need them too cause my wife is trying to start a daycare as well to help out with bills. Right now she only has one part time kid but she is getting a lot of interviews and soon she might have as many as 4 infants at a time, fulltime  So the earplugs will be a must if I am ever home before they all leave (and here I thought we were out of the diaper phase) :wallbash:
  13. I really like that it really does a good job of imitating one of those spiny lookign catepiliars. I would love to learn tha weave!
  14. I am going to make up some of these just for fun. What a great idea. Wish I would have seen it earlier.
  15. Technically copper is not man made so it is natural. I would allow it. Where as Tinsel would not be allowed.
  16. Are you serious? You don't want anything in return for them? Merry Christmas to you as well. Thank you so much!
  17. Look here for the pheasant tail: http://www.troutcatchers.co.uk/acatalog/fl...g_pheasant.html it is down the page a bit but you will see it. I don't know where to get it in the US.
  18. Awesome Tie. I love the Coq de Leon looks great on there. The use of the streachy mono is a nice touch I will have to try that. I bought some of it at walmart and have used it once but I like it over the thread like you did to kind of color it. I also saw some at hobby lobby that has a little flashy sparkles in the strechy stuff, very cool.
  19. Buy pheasant tail pre knotted you can get a whole feather where every fiber is double knotted and still on the quil.
  20. Boy you love giving search engine links. Why is that? Do you think that people don't do searches first? Are you trying to be rude? Are you trying to be helpful and that is just how you do it? Sorry but I am just confused on why you keep doing this because to me it comes across very rude. IMHO!
  21. Self control and money management
  22. It would be great to have some of those nice looking hooks in the box for when I perfect a style I have a good hook to put it on.
  23. I would love the opportunity to come to SA and fish. But right now with all 6 of my kids still under 18 that will not happen soon. Maybe in 20 years when there all moved out and I am living high on the hog I will be able to do a trip like that. For now I will just live through your pictures so post lots of pics of your fly's and your fish. Good luck!!!
  24. Sweet hook I really like that one. I wish they were easier to get. :wallbash:
