  1. I still recommend the Peak Rotary Vise. I've been using mine since 2005.
  2. I spent the last hour looking at different sling packs and came across this thread. Lately I've been using my Disse Gear Captus Bag. I'm able to fit 2-3 fly boxes, camera, a water bottle in one of the side pockets, leader material and other small things. I noticed I've been putting it down often so I picked up a Mountain River Guide Lanyard which I'm waiting to get in and try out. I think I'll like it for my quick last minute trips but I've also been looking at the different sling packs. I think I'm between the Orvis Safe Passage, Patagonia Atom Bag or the Vedavoo Tightlines Sling Pack.
  3. Today I got my new light ring and extension tube. I've got these setup on a Canon Rebel XSi and a Canon EF 24-70mm 1:2.8L lens. This first shot is what I took after getting it setup on the camera. I was holding the camera and having to focus manually after realizing I lose auto-focus with the extension tube. This second picture is after setting it up on a tripod. I took 12 pictures at different focal points and stacked them in Photoshop. Not too shabby for my second try. I'll need to mess with it some more to lose the glowing effect.
  4. Thanks for sharing Mike. Lots of ways to skin a cat. Kirk - here's some holographic vinyl material that I found on Amazon. I might pick up a sheet or two just to see what I can do with it. http://www.amazon.com/Holographic-Diamond-Hyperplaid-Graphic-Adhesive-Backed/dp/B005J80FZ8/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_4 I have some reflective sheets that I cut eyes out of like the vinyl eyes and they seemed to work really well. I sent Kirk some to try out.
  5. Those flies look great Kirk.
  6. I took the kayak out yesterday morning and caught a few bass and bluegill. I left the kayak on top the SUV and headed back out in the afternoon and took a few more bass. I caught one decent one in the afternoon. I used poppers the whole time and both came back completely banged up. I did cast them into some cement while trying to fish under a bridge so that didn't help anything. I took video of both trips which you can see at the links below. Morning Video Evening Video
  7. I'm not sure what it was but I picked up some BSI Slow-Cure 30 minute epoxy today. I'll see how the next ones come out.
  8. When the power went out last Friday with the storms in New Orleans I decided to turn one of my office desks into a fly tying desk. It was just time for some more room. Here's a pic of my new table along with some poppers I'm working on and tied. I have to say thanks to Kirk Dietrich for making the perch float popper videos on Youtube. Those really helped me out a lot. I had a few dry kinda cloudy. I read that could be due to humidity (it was raining)? I've been using the Gorilla 5 min Epoxy.
  9. Thanks, can't wait to get them. Sorry for being last minute again.
  10. Mine are in the mail. Sorry for being last minute.
  11. Here's the first one I whipped up in 2011.
  12. Guess I missed this one. If you need a replacement, let me know.
