  8. I was trying to do it without the dubbing loop tool, make the loop, twist in my fur-n-feathers.I am trying to tie more by hand, like doing a whip finish by hand with out a tool. I saw this guy tie up some steelhead tube flys, he did not use any tools, well he did use scissors but not any other tools not even a vice or a bobbin. I really was took back by this, I have not seen anyone do this before, his flies were good looking to. Just thought it might be fun to mess around and see if I can do more with less. Dont get me wrong I really love tools. It is cool seeing somebody doing somthing thats not the norm.Anyway, I dont even Know if you can do it with out a dubbing loop tool,It seems like I would need some extra hands. 11. I see by your little BIo beside your avitar you are mostly into pike fishing. What you should be looking at as a dubbing twirl is an Enrico Puglisi style like the one in the photo. The tools in the photo I made myself, it cost me about $3.00 to make. You made your own tools! thats cool, do you have a shop? I would like to make a dubbing loop tool. any info would be great. 13. I love a good bucktail fly.You cant go wrong with a good ole Clouser minnow,Leftys deceiver and Sea habit bucktail. I like to add some synthetics on those patterns, giv'em a little more flash and movement.Useing syntheics to make bait fish works for me,I like making a size 4 bluegill pattern that the big bass cant pass up. 15. west coast surf fishing the wind is allways there. on the central coast or northern cali., the wind comes howling out of the north, across my right casting hand blowing my line into me.I use about a 280-290 grain head, when the wind really picks i end up haveing to do a side arm cast or a good ole chuck-n-duck.when the white caps start flowing around 15k. I start wanting to give up,but I cant give up,gota make just one more cast. But you how it is one more cast turns into one more cast, before you know it an hour has gone, and the wind has picked up to 20k., way blown out.I end up haveing a birds nest in my runnin' line, my leader and fly all cozy in a ball. Allright I give up you win...this time...fore now, but I will see you in the cold grey light of dawn. I wont give up,never.I crave the salty spray in my face and in my soul.
