this is a relly interesting thread but i tell you guys across the pond have it easy with prices you want to take a look at the prices of uk shops , i now buy 90% of my flytying stuff from the states and canada because even with the postage costs it means im getting my stuff at at least a 3 times as cheap as if i was buying the same stuff from the uk as i tie big predator flies for a living its really the best way for me to go this country is really a rip off god bless uncle sam mcfluffchucker

thanks for that i cant find olive over here in goat hair was my first idea to make some baby pike as you know pike eat pike but couldnt get any but they really are killer flys and look awesome in the water mcfluffchucker

thanks for the comments i see were your coming from with the mono thread and i do do some like like but mostly i use black as the basic baitfish i.e roach dace etc of a pike overhere usually has a black or dark mouth and this just reperesents this but even if i did do them with mono thread dont think it would make any differance to the fish oh and this fly is quite long 4 to 5 inchs but you can quite easilly make it a lot smaller for trout really appriciate all the comments thanks guys mcfluffchucker (a cave in scotland)
