  1. They have actually asked me to be a brand ambassador. How did you like it?
  2. In this restaurant tips are not considered part of the wage, since we don't really get much tips. Nope not under the table at all. A real job where I am on a "payroll" and got my first paycheck today in my bank account. I'm not going to start a lawsuit or any legal stuff, but I am going to ask for my money and if I get denied then I'm done. Plus, I have a bunch of flies in stock that I am going to try and sell hopefully. Also started a mini-apparel biz with a buddy. Just started with decals (if you want a couple lemme know that would be greatly appreciated)
  3. I worked at a restaurant (going to stay secret). In FL the minimum wage is 8.10, but after taxes it figures to go to around 6$ an hour... So I'll just go talk to him. He's actually a really nice guy, just bad at his job. He'll schedule 8 people to work a Tuesday night and 2 to work a busy Saturday afternoon... I mean come on dude If he just tries to make an excuse or whatever about not paying me what I rightfully earned (those of you who have worked in restaurants know it is hard work). If he BSes me, I am done thanks for hiring never eating here again (you wouldn't believe what goes on in the back) bye bye. Thanks for the responses
  4. So I kinda got lowballed. I worked the hours to get (yes after taxes) 325$, then plus tip money so I should have been paid around $335... I got paid 100$ Did I mention that NONE of my managers speak English except the GM who of course is never there when I am. Like honestly, how can you be a manager in the US and not speak a word of English? Now I am not crying or complaining, but when I do the math and bust my ass off to make a certain goal when I am saving up for a gheenoe, and then I get lowballed, yeah it kinda hurts. I do NOT want any sympathy from you guys.. Btw, I still haven't technically resigned or quit or whatever. Should I just text the GM or meet with him or what. Kinda new to the whole job thing haha
  5. Those Spanish are fun. Especially if you get into a school of them
  6. Looks a lot like a fly I tie, the hot legs Charlie. Nicely done with the legs, I've never been a fan of legs tied in the head since they seem to foul way too much. Redfish/bonefish candy right there
  7. Power you have some pretty cool flies man. Keep it up
  8. Well yeah the is literally I am chasing trout. If it was your first time in the salt you would be lost and probably wouldn't make it past day 2 Anyways, yeah I read about the salmon staying deep so not really expecting one. Are there any other species? Like bass, carp, etc?
  9. If I went to a lake that holds salmon, would woolly buggers work or mayflies work? Also, if I went to a cutthroat lake I would imagine a woolly bugger should do the trick. I think?
  10. Usually pretty shallow. The heaviest I would use is small lead, but mono and med-beadchain are my favorites Don't use articulated, I mean it may work but for a snook swap I would stay away from that.. Usually inches to a couple feet. Really for fly no more than 5 feet tops, hope this helps
  11. Almost got into a fight with a snowbird like that haha. Good thing I kind of heard her coming so I looked behind me and stopped my cast. I am going to not write what I said to her LOL
  12. Sweet. I think I have dry flies, are stimulators dry flies? Got a couple of those.. Also, I got some 5x tippet. I have good eye sight and young, but holy crap that stuff is so skinny. I could barely it! What knot should I use to attach tippet to fly, or would a regular non slip loop knot work? thanks and sorry for being a trout googan haha
  13. Colotyer could I expect any salmon next week in buena vista? Also, any knowledge about the fishing would be great!
  14. Cool man, I use craft fur underfur for some wicked bonefish bugs. Nice work on those flies, I am sure pompano are going to crush those things left and right
  15. Yeah I got some of the caddis dries... One thing about the buggers. Do I just blind cast it and strip it back or let it flow with the current or...? Thanks
  16. Seeing Norm is cool and all, trust me he is a cool man. But, he will pretty much tell you the exact things that you find on his website or any info about beach snook. Schminnows, stay in the sand, all that If you're in Sanibel or very close, then yeah absolutely go for it. But If you're not don't feel that you're going to all of a sudden catch 20 snook a day just because you went to his shop. Trust me, its not going to happen
  17. I fly fish from my kayak without a line tamer or whatever they call it these days, but if you have something to put your line when stripping I'd recommend it. It took me a couple times to get the hang of line management on a kayak... Also very frustrating especially when you're only here for a weekend
  18. Looks good. Whats the body material?
  19. So heading to Colorado from the 8-18 in July. Staying in a place I think called buena vista and around park Estes or something like that. Not even hitting the stocked waters, wild fish only! I got wooly buggers in olive brown and black in the 10-14 size. Also may fly dry flies and may fly nymphs (and jeez those things are TINY). Didn't want to get a whole bunch of leader spools so went ahead and just got some already of the premade stuff and a couple tippet spools to replenish when needed (5x) Actually pretty excited for this change of pace. Chilly weather, wild trout, 5wts, size 18 flies, and mountains. Got to love it! PS, any tips are greatly appreciated!
  20. Nice vid and very pretty scenery. I have never really enjoyed "easy" fishing. Yeah sure, I can o out and catch a bunch of bedding peacock bass but to me the fun is sneaking past the guard, dodging the water moccasins, chasing a cruising pea and getting him to bite. I'd trade 1 fish like that for 20 peas I caught on live bait or whatever. I am heading to Colorado to chase some wild rainbows, browns, brookies, and if I am very lucky a native cutthroat trout. I bought some woolly buggers and some may flies and tippet. Really don't know much about trout haha but I love learning new things...
  21. heading to Colorado next week... hoping to get some fish like that!
  22. Yes definitely. Don't even bring the FW lines.. Bring flies in the size 4-1/0 range, schminnows, fiber baitfish, gurglers, anything that resembles a small white baitfish really. For lines I really like the airflow clear tip tropical punch and royal wolf Bermuda taper. Good luck on the trip. I've made 2 trips over there very recently and still haven't gotten a snook on fly
