I read on another board that WWKimba passed away yesterday.
Condolences to his family and friends.
RIP my friend, and thank you for all the swaps.

I hate to brag but I'm in with a 20-incher

Thanks Fruity

We'll stay on the shiny, flashy theme with a similar fly for next challenge: Empie's Deadly Shiner

Tried burnishing a floss body once, forget what I used but obviously it was not the appropriate tool as I ended up destroying it. Good to know what works. Wish I'd seen your offer earlier. 👍

Lots of people swear by them, I've never had much luck.

I really enjoy this site and the members, new and old. I appreciate and enjoy checking out all the flies that are posted, by both newcomers and the experienced master tyers we have here.
I've come to realized each tyer has their own style that goes into a fly. And I like being able to differentiate and recognize the tying style of different members, which has given me confidence to develop and tie in my own style.
I really enjoy when a new tyer joins, asks questions, gets positive support, and posts their improving ties like John1962, or when a new member approaches the hobby from a whole different perspective, like LisaLou. That's the best.
And of course, there's the swaps, I love them. Probably my favorite thing. If I had more time I'd sign up for more of them. For the life of me I don't understand why some members don't participate in a swap or two.
I wasn't active on the site 'back in the good old days', but I agree with Norm

Did you get one?

Indeed, very nice. You are now in freefall mode down the rabbit hole. Don't expect to hit the bottom anytime soon, lol.

Oh baby, that's a beaut. Love the rich color of those older fiberglass rods, the foil under the spiral wraps, and look at that grip and reel seat, a 2 piece of course. Woo hoo! Those were the days. Yours looks like it's in great condition. Thanks for the pics.

Those were some really beautiful rods back in the day. Does it have the walnut on the grip?
-
That's unfortunate, looking forward to getting them. Thanks for hosting Woodenlegs.

Very nice Steve, and extra points for the fiberglass blank.

Very pretty cape, that's for sure. Those smaller feathers look pretty sweet. But I think it would depend on what you already have. Personally, I think I would pass on it and save my money for another partridge skin.
