  1. Still kinda confused about it... QUOTE started two pieces of foam on each side of the hook, wrapped a lot of thread backwards to completely compress the foam, then tied the segments moving towards the front, wrapping the thread around the inner core, then back out for each segment
  2. QUOTE (jocapesca @ Sep 5 2005, 03:07 PM) I want to see this site but dont works never (www.hatchmasters.ca) with me . Is the same to all. Try this link: http://www.hatchmasters.ca/Materials.htm
  3. Thanks guys, I am going to try a few more with some different colorations and designs. I was mostly just testing out how to use the foam but decided to make something in the end. Hey Graham I was curious as to how you wrap your foam on. With the two pieces and such. I didn't really wrap the foam, I just tied in two pieces in the front then wrapped thread over it to the rear. Then I pulled it back forward and just used thread to form the different segments of the body. Like this: http://www.laxeninorr.com/danica/ Do you actually wrap the foam?
  4. Note- the head is the rear I was mostly just practicing a foam technique that I learned thanks to Albert and Uffe, but I figured instead of just wasting it, make something out of it. So i made a little catepillar. The rear area(which is the head) that is off the hook is on lead wire so it can bend up and down. Then I wrapped a grizzly hackle in the same path as the body segments.
  5. QUOTE (albert @ Aug 18 2005, 08:50 PM) Hey Uffe i have one also Size 16 Albert Hey you've got a bug on your hand, make sure it doesn't bite you. It might be poisonous.
  6. QUOTE (uffepuffe @ Sep 4 2005, 06:47 PM) I'll post an images on how it's constructed later today. Cool, I am looking forward to seeing them.
  7. I was at walley world today and decided to look through the craft area. I found a bunch of different color 2mm foam sheets and got a few. Man that stuff is cheap, 33 cents! Once I get my materials in the mail from Hatchmasters, the fun will begin! I also got some thin glittery felt, I thought I could use it with some fly down the road. Maybe a midge or somethin??
  8. Probably nothing, but not sure yet. If I do then it will be some nymphs. I am gonna work on my rod tonight!

  10. How about you post in one message and not in continuous ones?
  11. QUOTE (JarrodRuggles @ Sep 2 2005, 06:03 PM) well someoone, say you, if they wanted to buy a rod from me....that might just turn them away... Yeah I kow what you mean, but it's all out of fun. Most people would realize that you personally wouldn't put that stuff up about yourself. So they would know that people are just playing with you. Know what I mean?
  12. How that just wouldn't make sense, it fits you to well
  13. Thats funny, but excellent work Albert. You really have some talent.
  14. I use them for bead fishing and they seem to hold up. I have not complaints. Also used them to tie some scuds and they worked just fine. You got a great deal on those. I paid $6 for 1 pack of 50 size 12 hooks.
  15. The wingcase on the zug bug was getting me aggravated so I moved on and made something different. This is a cross between a zug bug and a prince nymph. Is there a pattern out there like this?
  16. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by GlobalFisher: Zug Prince
  17. Thanks. The upper body needs more work, it was only the second one I tied so...looks funky to me. That hackle and wing look pretty bad. Practice makes perfect though! I will try some of the peacock swords, I've got some right here.
  18. That looks so real, nice job! Two headbangs for that one!
