Dont know if there many other baseball fans here but i am a pretty big one,and i dont want to offend any yankee fans(yeah right ) but i cant help but enjoy seeing them LOSE! I'm not a big marlins fan but i am glad that they took it from NY,i am just tired of seeing the yankees dominate MLB. Truth be know i'm a BIG detroit tigers fan! So lets go tigers next year.........hey they cant get any worse can they....lol SD

Good tip OSD theres alot of morons out there that shoot at anything that moves in the woods I always keep a orange hat in the back of my vest and wear it to and from my spot on the river,then when i get in the water i take it off. SD

Yupp i remenber hearing that they had do shoot the fishing/river scence on the galliain because the big blackfoot was in such bad shape....SAD!!! lol.....yupp i get some very nice perch here in mich. out of the au sable below five channels dam every summer. In 98' i submited a C&R pic of a 14.75" and got a MA award along with somthing stating that it was like the 4th largest one taken in mi that year(kinda cool ) I have been fishing the au sable since i was 5 yr's old and know of some very productive places for bass/perch,and enjoy catching these big ol perch alot. You wouldnt believe how much of a fight a 14+" perch can put up......really cool! SD

Nope it actully will create more posts IMO because you will be talkin to new friends and getting to know the guys better so you will have more to talk about and more to post on.It works great on other sites and would be a cool addition to this site as well. Most of the sites that have one, the guys dont just go on site to sit on the chat line.........its more of a thing like you click on the site and see say,Smallie or OSD or whoever on the chat line so you jump on and talk a bit then go on to reading posts and have more to talk about......it all works out in other words. SD

Just wanted to share a pic of where i read this forum from. I am "mostly" a C&R kinda guy nowadays but i have taken some nice fish over the years and have some nice trophys on the wall next to the computer. If sittin in this room and reading this site dont get ya in the mood to go fishing then you must be dead! On the wall is:32"steelie/19"brown/6lb walleye/14.5"&13.5"perch/22"smallie/21"smallie/21"smallie....As i said i mostly C&R anymore but thought i'd share this with you guys. SD

jrham i will write to the address that you gave and also email them. I understand how dangerous this is for a trout stream to be threatened by minning/drilling and would be more than happy to help voice a concerned opinion. I really think others should do the same because it starts with 1 stream and the next thing you know theres drilling/minning on YOUR favorite stream. And even though they say this is an exploratory mine,if the find what they are lookin for then you know there will be others. SD

I think thats a great idea about the chat thing.........just like the "campfire" on the MS site its a great way to talk to the guys when you want. good idea. BTW my aim is flyguy1636 SD

Mining is a threat to any stream/river/ecosystem and it is something that they will always push on us and say....."ohhhhh noooo,we know what we are doing...there wont be any damage to the system" I'm sure others on here can think of a fav. river that is threatened right now in the lower penn. Oh just a little stream that is called THE AU SABLE!!!!! They are wanting to drill right off the south branch banks and only a few 100 yrds behind a structure called the fisherman's chaple! As far as i'm concerened the whole deal is and i think they are a bunch of bastards for even wanting to do that to the au sable........Sorry to get off your point there jrham i just love the au sable and would hate to see anything bad happen to it. Anyway back to your point.....i can totally understand your problem and feel for ya bud,just let us know if thier is anything we can do to help. Perhaps you have a email or phone # of someone that we could write or call? And welcome aboard! SD

Barbless welcome to the site i'm sure you will find lots on this site to keep you interested while the fishing isnt so hot. Plus remember the motto....have fly rod will travel if the fishin aint very good around the LA area you have some good spots in nieghboring states out there! SD

Welcome redneck glad to have ya here. Smallie's right dont get discouraged if it's a little different at first,it gets easier. If you havent bought your equipment yet then try not to spend a lot at first till you get the hang of it and see if you like it,and the best teacher if you dont have a friend to help show you,is a video tape on the basic's of fly fishing. If you have any problems with getting started and casting then just post in the lodge forum and we will all tryin help you out. I havent been to georgia for years but my family is from blairsville Ga. Again Welcome SD
