I have heard alot about the elk from the guys at the local fly shop....depending on what kinda time i will have off work this year i might be interested in it.....i'll keep an eye on this thread and see how work goes! Sounds like fun though And damn shoe....thats a football and a half in that pic

Cool story OSD i have had to tell guys with small nets that very same thing..."naw thats ok its not a big one i can just beach him" yeah right.....i was really thinkin if he trys to put my fish in that guppy net i'll kill him! I use kinda the same set up only it has velcro to connect the net to the vest. I have seen alot of guys use downrigger snaps also. Thanks for sharin the tip! SD

Yupp had a great time smallie.....dont have a bunch of pics but do have a few....will be up after work tommorow,taped the nascar race while i was gone so i had to watch that earlier.... Yupp i'm a nascar kinda guy I will have a report up tommorow but i will tell ya that i froze my ass off a couple days! got done to 30degrees at night and high of like 48 on thursday.

Well guys i have been waiting all year for this and it's finally here......starting as soon as i get off of work tommorow i will be on VACATION! I'm heading up north to fly fish the Au Sable for salmon for a week. I reall enjoy fishing with friends but there comes a time at least once a year when it just does a man good to spend a little time alone on the river for a few days,so i havent' told anyone that i usally fish with that i'm going i will be by myself for the first 4 days and then a guy that i have become friends with through another site will be joing me for the last 2 days. I havent actully meet him yet so i'm lookin forward to fishing with and making a new friend. But i am really looking forward to those first 4 days of peace&quiet and fishing when and where ever i want! .....Plus i look forward to the much needed break from work,works been really hecktic lately I'll be sure to take some pics and give a report when i return. Cant wait Hope the rest of you can get out this weekend for some action! Steeldrifter

Welcome D.waterflogger glad to have you with us. I am a little the same way with tying in spurts like that. I will spend a week tying each night then go for a couple weeks without. Thats why i joined this site to help keep me "into" tying even when i'm not actully doing it!

fatman i came across that last 4th of july and posted it on another site i am a part of,when i came acroos it back then it stopped me in my tracks......and just did again when i just watched it again! The sights and the music behind that are just plain haunting....sept 11th is something no American will ever forget till the day he dies. The one good thing that did come out of it i think is a new respect for the men&women of the armed forces....(and rightfuly so!)

Hey Gray Ghost...i didnt and dont mean any disrespect at all to you your father or your streamers,so please dont take it that way. But i just dont view it as something that should be legal in "fly only"waters. Dont take that the wrong way...thats just my opinion and i'm just being honest about my views on it. I am not saying that it dosent work(i'm sure it does) and i'm not insulting you or your father. I'm just sayin i dont really see it as a "fly" thats all. Yupp i just noticed that very same thing myself in my view center it says 73k before i save it,then when i save and go to upload it said 33k...i dont know maybe its somethin on my end. Gallery??? we have pic gallerys on this site?

SH i compressed it down to 73k and thats how it came out ...i'll try a little bigger file and see what happens

if i dont compress the file size it says it cant load this type of file.....i just compressed file and post in REPORTS and the pic uploaded but its kinda ....not right!..LOL

OK i am frustrated....i have some pics from last weekend that i wanted to share with you guys but i cant figure out how to post them! I thought i was doin it right but its not workin. Can anyone walk me through it real quick?

Yupp congrates SH/BD you guys do have a real nice site....and yes the fact that it is more "free/open" makes it nice. Not that you have to curse to get a point across but its nice to know you dont have to re-read your post before you hit submit just so you dont offend anyone! I think i was like #77 or somethin and that was only a few weeks ago...at this rate you could see 200 before the end of the year!
