I'm sure others on here can think of a fav. river that is threatened right now in the lower penn. Oh just a little stream that is called THE AU SABLE!!!!! They are wanting to drill right off the south branch banks and only a few 100 yrds behind a structure called the fisherman's chaple!

As far as i'm concerened the whole deal is and i think they are a bunch of bastards for even wanting to do that to the au sable........Sorry to get off your point there jrham i just love the au sable and would hate to see anything bad happen to it. Anyway back to your point.....i can totally understand your problem and feel for ya bud,just let us know if thier is anything we can do to help. Perhaps you have a email or phone # of someone that we could write or call?

Barbless welcome to the site i'm sure you will find lots on this site to keep you interested while the fishing isnt so hot. Plus remember the motto....have fly rod will travel if the fishin aint very good around the LA area you have some good spots in nieghboring states out there!

Smallie's right dont get discouraged if it's a little different at first,it gets easier. If you havent bought your equipment yet then try not to spend a lot at first till you get the hang of it and see if you like it,and the best teacher if you dont have a friend to help show you,is a video tape on the basic's of fly fishing. If you have any problems with getting started and casting then just post in the lodge forum and we will all tryin help you out. I havent been to georgia for years but my family is from blairsville Ga.

I have heard alot about the elk from the guys at the local fly shop....depending on what kinda time i will have off work this year i might be interested in it.....i'll keep an eye on this thread and see how work goes! Sounds like fun though

Cool story OSD i have had to tell guys with small nets that very same thing..."naw thats ok its not a big one i can just beach him" yeah right.....i was really thinkin if he trys to put my fish in that guppy net i'll kill him!

I use kinda the same set up only it has velcro to connect the net to the vest. I have seen alot of guys use downrigger snaps also.

Well guys i have been waiting all year for this and it's finally here......starting as soon as i get off of work tommorow i will be on VACATION! I'm heading up north to fly fish the Au Sable for salmon for a week. I reall enjoy fishing with friends but there comes a time at least once a year when it just does a man good to spend a little time alone on the river for a few days,so i havent' told anyone that i usally fish with that i'm going i will be by myself for the first 4 days and then a guy that i have become friends with through another site will be joing me for the last 2 days. I havent actully meet him yet so i'm lookin forward to fishing with and making a new friend. But i am really looking forward to those first 4 days of peace&quiet and fishing when and where ever i want! .....Plus i look forward to the much needed break from work,works been really hecktic lately

I'll be sure to take some pics and give a report when i return.

Cant wait

Hope the rest of you can get out this weekend for some action!

Welcome D.waterflogger glad to have you with us. I am a little the same way with tying in spurts like that. I will spend a week tying each night then go for a couple weeks without. Thats why i joined this site to help keep me "into" tying even when i'm not actully doing it!

fatman i came across that last 4th of july and posted it on another site i am a part of,when i came acroos it back then it stopped me in my tracks......and just did again when i just watched it again!

The sights and the music behind that are just plain haunting....sept 11th is something no American will ever forget till the day he dies. The one good thing that did come out of it i think is a new respect for the men&women of the armed forces....(and rightfuly so!)

Hey Gray Ghost...i didnt and dont mean any disrespect at all to you your father or your streamers,so please dont take it that way. But i just dont view it as something that should be legal in "fly only"waters. Dont take that the wrong way...thats just my opinion and i'm just being honest about my views on it. I am not saying that it dosent work(i'm sure it does) and i'm not insulting you or your father. I'm just sayin i dont really see it as a "fly" thats all. And theres nothin wrong with leavin the site "old fashioned " sometimes a diff lookin site is what makes people check it out!
