Just wanted to say Happy B day to old man Mike Chell, I wonder if his house caught fire because of all those candles today ๐

My memory sucks these days, but I think I used that bronze on one of your rods recently didn't I?

Another 6'6" 2wt just out of the shop this morning.

Man that looks like a great time with family Mark. And that stripped rockfish is beautiful!

A little 6'6" 2wt done up in brown & bronze wraps just out of the shop today.

Not a movie, but if you haven't seen it yet check out the Netflix series "The Last Kingdom". Flat out awesome series. I just finished it last week and loved every single episode of it.

Nick have you looked into maybe some of the charging handles that they sell now a days to see if maybe that would help? They make them for any of the big brands now, Glock/Sig etc etc...
Might be something to check into and might make it easier for ya with your current semi-autos

Some comments have been deleted. Seriously, I can't believe I still 20 yrs later have to remind you guys to keep the politics out of the comments. Few of the comments even took shots at certain news channels. How does that have anything to do with Mike saying he liked a movie.
KNOCK IT OFF. Only warning.

A 12' 5/6wt spey with carbon fiber grips and a 6wt Sage Z-axis just off the bench.

I used to have an old pocket watch that was probably from around the 1920's or there about. It was real nice looking with the flip open front cover and chain and all on it and was my grandpa's. I gave it to my Nephew about 15yrs ago so that he had something that was his great grandpa's after I am gone. I still have a couple wind up wrist watches that were my Dad's and my Grandpa's but they usually stay in a box and not used. I usually just wear my cheapie battery wrist watch daily because I don't use cell phones so need a way to tell time when out & about.

Low & clear always is rough no matter what river it is, but sounds like you still managed a good time and got a nice one as well.

Yeah, but if you can't see something the size of a small SUV, in what is probably a pretty open field in the first place...well, my money is on they were knowingly too close and should have known it. Could be wrong, but I doubt a bison just "snuck up" on them.

Yep. Sometimes it may make me sound uncaring, but there's just times when people get what they deserve imo.
Whenever I read/hear a story like this about someone I always follow up with..."And this is how we learn" ๐

Nice largemouth Mike.

Sorry to hear that.ย The only bad thing about our furry friends, is that we don't get more time with them than we do. But they sure do brighten the years they are with us.

Cool now you can come over to my house and fix my tub drain ๐
I've started a bathroom remodel project and my tub drain needs to be snaked out because it takes about an hour to drain 3" of water from the tub. Can't run a snake down the drain in the tub because it's an OLD drain that has some weird baffle type thing in it which I'm afraid a snake will get stuck in. So gonna have to pull off the access panel in the bedroom to get to the backside of the tub and break lose the pipe and snake it out that way. That access panel haven't been off in probably 50 yrs. When I pull it off I wouldn't be surprised to find Geraldo still searching for Al Capone's loot!

Weather sucks so not going to tryin' fish tonight. Tomorrow is my last day, so will concentrate all my efforts into tomorrow night hopefully. Just going through some pictures from the trip and had not shared this one yet. It's one of my favorites from the trip releasing this beautiful brown trout back into the Au Sable.

Good to see. Smallies are a blast on the fly. Glad you have a new option for summer fishing ๐

Real nice healthy looking smallie there ๐

It certainly is Tom. I look forward to this trip every year, it's the highlight of my year to be honest. And this year it has not disappointed at all. It's been such a great time.
Good early hex spinnerfall tonight. No big browns rising to it but some hex eating rainbows of decent size are always fun. Also heard a big pack of coyotes howling away in the dark which is always cool, and came across a deer right in front of me on the walk out of the woods. Nothing like glowing eyes of a large animal running 20ft across in front of you in the dark to give your heart a jump start ๐

ย Thanks Canada...but I quit smoking 12 yrs ago!๐
Crazy how smokey it is up here today, can even smell a burnt smell in the air all day. -
Hope all is well there Nick. I don't think I could live out there in the plains of Ok or Ks or somewhere like that, tornadoes are one thing that freak me out ๐
We got lots of rain here finally as well. Much needed, but would have been nice if it were spread out over a few days rather than 2" in one day. There were even places here that got almost 5" in one night. Crazy for this part of Michigan.
