  1. Thanks for the reply. I have a Thompson vise on its way and I'm trying to identify the model from the photo. I think it's a Pro.
  2. http://www.mtfa-springfield.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/D-H-Thompson.pdf After looking at this document it appears the Thompson "Pro Vise" Series only came in a black finish. Later did they have a version in a metal finish that looked like chrome?
  3. When I click on the title of a thread I go right in but when I want to click at the bottom of any screen to go to the next or last screen nothing happens so I back up a screen and click on the number 2 in the square box to get there. Do I need to change a setting? Thanks, Dan
  4. That reminds me of trout fishing on Saturdays in Maramec Spring Park near St. James, MO. I haven't fished for trout since then. Lines were always tangling with others casting over my line.
  5. Hello! I retired in January after 45 years working in IT. Now I can begin doing what I want to do! I started fishing 65 years ago (I was 3 years old) while my Dad held me on his hip and he walked the gravel bottomed creek running through the old family homestead in central Missouri. I have been fishing ever since. Now I live in south-central Iowa on a few acres. I have a 1/2 acre pond and a Jon boat. There are quite a few ponds and lakes within a 30 minute drive. On those I'll be bank fishing. I picked up a fly rod and some other equipment when I was about 16 years old. Several years ago I got a fly tying kit from Cabela's and tied a few flies. I have since bought a newer/better rod. Now it's time to get back into it. I need a better vise and some other items so I came here for advice. I also want to improve my tying skills. Anyway, that's enough about me so ask me questions if you want to know more. Thanks, Dan
