  1. I have been adding some super glue to the head of some of my crappie and bluegill flies. This help keep them intact for much longer.
  2. I tied the olive marabou bead chain eyed nymph. It is a good imitation of a damselfy nymph and I have caught many panfish as well as trout on the pattern and also the occasional LM bass and even one small walleye. Most of the time damsel patterns are tied with mono eyes, but these eyes get the fly a little deeper and help the hook to ride upright most of the time, like a clouser.
  3. Got um today. They look great, got some good idea. Thanks all and especially OSD!
  4. I will be sending my marabou damsel nymphs on monday.
  5. I'll second the clouser line. Only had mine a short while but I am impressed with it!
  6. Got um all done today! I tied a marabou damselfly nymph with black bead chain eyes. If you happen to be a stillwater trout angler as well then this pattern will also keep you rippin' trout lips.
  7. Ahh give redneck a break. He's a fisherman, its spring, there's fish to catch and balls to bat, he just got a little overextended. You're alright my book. I do still however still want to participate in the swap if others are up for it as well. I would volunteer to take it over, but I just got too much on my plate right now as well.
  8. I'm in! I just moved to Wisconsin from Montana so I'm relatively new to the warm water thing, but I am on fast learning curve. I have tied a few crappie candy flies and I would imagine they will work well, but I have to wait a few more days for the lakes to thaw a bit more before I try them. I caught some crappies this fall using a foam damselfly pattern I developed. I used a sinking line to get down to the bottom (15 feet) and the foam pattern floats above most of the weeds on the bottom to reduce hangups. I actually caught many more bluegills on it than crappie, but I only caught large panfish, no teeny weenies! I don't have a pic of it or anything, but I'll work on getting one up somewhere.
