  1. I’m on R & R, primarily for my sweet wife, but I brought along a few things and hope to do some tying. The goal is to get them in on time. I will do my best. Vic, I’ll be in touch. BB
  2. Ok. I hope I have jumped through all the necessary hoops. Somebody say something so I can check it out. Mikechell, are you an auto mechanic? If so, can I PM you a car question? BB
  3. Since I moved and changed my email address, I am no longer receiving email notifications when I get a PM or when someone replies to any of my posts. Does anyone know a fix for this? I have tried adding the email address from an old reply to the old email address but that didnt help. If someone else has had success with that, maybe I put in the wrong email address, so tell me what to put. Thanks Breambuster
  4. Hey guys, the flies went out yesterday, Monday. You should receive them toward the middle and end of this week. They are a great set and Im sure you are going to enjoy them. Thanks to one and all. Take care BB
  5. Troutguy’s flies arrived this afternoon. I will get them back in the mail on Monday. Great sets from everyone. BB
  6. Well, I missed the Caddis For Christmas Swap. I surely don’t want to miss this one. And just before a 10 day period when I may not be able to tie! I may have to ask for an extra helping of grace on this one. But I’m in. On another note. I sometimes have problems connecting to the forum now because of a super slow internet connection. That’s one reason I missed the Caddis Swap. If anyone wants my email address or a phone number for texting, let me know. BB
  7. Wmw4's flies have arrived and they are very nicely done. Another great fly to add to the box. Thanks Wmw4. Nearly there. Take care BB
  8. It looks like there are still 3 sets out. Remember that the due date is the end of the month. If you can get yours in before then, that would be good. Take care BB
  9. OK, Guys, Woodenleg's Flies have arrived, and they are very nice. Another great addition to the swap. They are Stimulators and are a great tie. Bob, I'll be updating the original post to begin the thread momentarily. If you happen to be online, give me a few minutes and check back. If you don't see this right away, check the original thread BB
  10. 2 sets of flies arrived today. First, there are some Frenchies from J-Kno. I just ordered some materials to see if I can learn to tie a Frenchie, and now I've got a great pattern to go by. That's J-Kno, they look great. Great addition to the swap. And next, from the Master of the Dry Fly, (drum roll please) we have some Royal Wulffs from Netabrookie. The reason he must be always netting those brookies is that he's throwing his wonderful dry flies at them. Great set of flies and another wonderful addition to our Essential Fly Box. Thanks Netabrookie! I'll be out of town when the mail comes on Monday, but the wife will be here to check the mail, and I'll let you know Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, Woodenlegs, that your flies have arrived. Have a great weekend everyone. BB
  11. Vicrider, I started to send you a message the other day and put it off and didn't do it, and now I wish I had. I had the same thing to happen to me a couple of years ago. A guy sent in his flies in a plastic zip lock back rather than a crush proof box and they were the first set to arrive. I put the envelope in the tote where I kept flies as they arrived and forgot about them. When it came time to send them back, and mistook the envelope with his flies for an empty envelope from a previous swap and thought I had lost a set. I found them at the last minute after apologizing to him and the rest of the swap for losing his set. If I had told you that story a few weeks ago, it might have given you the clue as to where your missing set was at. But the bottom line is that I'm glad you found them. I know the gut wrench of thinking you've lost and set and having to go online and apologize. Oh, the trials and tribulations of being a Swapmeister! Take care BB
  12. Hello Everyone. Trout-a-Control's flies came yesterday and they are AWESOME! I used to tease Horseshoes about being the FTF's Helen Shaw, but I see now that she has a rival for that title! Great job, Trout-a-Control. Would you do me a favor? Please post a materials list. Thanks BB
  13. Hello Everyone, I'm finally back online, at least for now. In the meantime, Vicrider's flies have arrived, and you guys are going to be amazed. He has sent in 4 flies for everyone, and they come with leaders and ring connectors. Great job, Vicrider. My wife is telling me that today is Columbus Day so I don't there will be any mail until tomorrow. I'll let you know what comes in. Take care BB
  14. R2732’s flies have arrived and they are a very neat tie. My internet is down and Hughes Net, the only game in town, says it will be Sunday afternoon before they can send a technician. I brought my iPad to the hospital where my wife is taking her last radiation treatment today to post this. If I don’t post again before Sunday, you will know the reason why. BB
  15. Netabrookie, you sound like me. Especially now that we have moved and I'm waiting to get some work done in the garage so I can unpack and sort through a lot of my stuff. I know I have it, but where it is, I couldn't say. All I know is "It's in a box somewhere!" Take a deep breath and give it some time. You will remember in the middle of the night where they are. BB
  16. Joshpilon08’s flies have arrived and there are 2 very good reasons to like these. First, there are 2 sets and that’s double great. And second, they are very nicely done. Thanks Josh Take care BB
  17. Sorry, Bob. Just haven't gotten around to posting. Weekends, especially Sundays, are still busy for me, even though I'm "Retired." Anyway, your flies are here. They arrived Saturday. And to everyone else, Bob's flies, "Bivisibles" are awesome! Really neat looking flies. You're going to enjoy putting these in your box. Take care BB
  18. RickZieger's flies arrived yesterday and they are super nice. He has sent everyone 2 flies and that is very generous of him. Thanks Rick. Great pair of flies. Netabrookie, check your PM inbox. Take care BB
  19. OK! We are now full!!! We the addition of Old Hat and r2732, we are now full. Thanks, guys, for joining. TO EVERYONE, now that the swap is filled, we come back to the question of DUE DATE. Those who have expressed any concern about the due date have asked for later rather than sooner, and I can understand that. We are just getting the kids back to school. Some of you will be storing your gear before the snow flies, etc, etc. So how about if we set the due date for Oct 25? That gives you almost 2 months to tie 12 flies and, hopefully we fill finish the swap before Halloween. If that works a hardship for anyone, let me know. Thanks to all. BB
  20. J-Kno, I tried to PM you my addy but I got a message that you couldn't receive any more PM's. Check you box and see if you need to discard some stuff. BB
  21. J-Kno, you are in. Thanks for joining us. I haven't posted a due date because I didn't know how long it was going to take to fill up the swap. But a couple of people have asked for something toward the end of October, and that's where I'm leaning right now. I will PM you my addy. Take Care BB
  22. Sounds good to me, Netabrookie. I've got you down for a Royal Wulff.
  23. Joshpilon08, I am glad to add you to the list. I think either pattern would be fine. Let me know which you would prefer and I'll update your listing. You're in! Netabrookie! What a joy to be swapping with you again. So glad that you decided to join us. I'll put you down for a Traditional Dry. Let me know when you decide on a particular pattern. Thanks BB
  24. Rick, it's great to have you join us. We certainly need at least 1 PTN, so I'm glad you're going to tie one up for us. Thanks for joining. Troutguy, it's great to hear from you. I'm delighted to have you in here. I'm looking forward to seeing your Thunder Creek, BND, We need a streamer. Vicrider, I'm really glad that you decided to join us. I know your Crackleback/Dropper will be a great addition to our box. Trouta-Control, I think this is the first time we've swapped. It's nice to have a Young Lady join us. Thanks for signing up. And I'm excited that you are going to tie a Yellow Sally for us. I'm looking forward to seeing that one. Congratulations on the "Little One!" I wish you all the very best. Only 5 more slots to go. If you're thinking about it, don't think too long. Take care BB
  25. OK, guys. Thanks! We will decide on a due date when everyone signs up. Not sure how long that will take, but it will be somewhere around the middle or the last of October. Plenty of time. Fishingbobnelson, I'm an East Coast guy and know NOTHING about trout fishing West of the Mississippi, and I know precious little about trout fishing right where I'm at! And, now, I wouldn't do this for just anybody, but since it's you, you can spend your last week in the Sierra Nevada. (It's that in the Southern Rockies?) It's in the Southwest, anyway. At any rate, I'm delighted to sign you up with Bivisables. Woodenlegs, you are in with a Simulator, and thanks! I'm glad to be back. Just remember that I have found my fly tying stuff. It's in a couple of large totes, but my tools are, like so many other things I'd like to have, "in a box, somewhere!" Long story, don't get me started! And Wmw4, glad to have you join us with a sculpin pattern. I'll be glad to accommodate you on a due date, No worries. Thanks for have you sign up for this one. Who's next? Who else wants to join us? Oh, yeah. And for everyone else as well, I've thought of 3 different Scenarios for swaps during this "down" period, and right now, I can think of 2 of them! We will be doing lots of stuff going forward. BB
