  1. I used an 8wt rod with a Harris reel for that fish but I found that even with a drag the fish was in control not me. Like I stated before it was my first muskie on the fly. I just didn't like having to revive the fish that long. Muskies in our region are rare because they co-habituate with pike, so all are very precious. pete

    Hello

Where did your dad take you?
  3. Dustin last summer was the first time I hooked up a Muskie on the fly. The fight was amazing it lasted about twenty minutes but I won't be doing any more because it took more than forty minutes to revive the fish. When I use my heavy tackle I can have the fish to the boat in just a few minutes and the fish recovery time can be a few seconds. I worried about that fish the rest of the day and stayed close in case it rose belly up near me. I sorry if the pictures are a bit big. pete.

    Hello

Hi everyone, I'm a self taught fly fisherman for the last ten years, so I have a lot bad habits...some I'll keep that have nothing with fly fishing ...some I should change. I got a tying vise last Xmas and have been having fun with it. Now it's time to learn more.
