Kyle Hand 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I had someone at work last night tell me the same thing so I guess I need to "splain it better". That is not a weed guard, rather it is the silk gut tied in long with a loop on the end of it to attach to the leader. If you have the opportunity to see any of the older bass and trout flies, they were pre-snelled and this is my weak-ass attempt at doing that. Thanks for the compliments. Bud Guidry 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2005 beautiful little fly kyle. i like the gut leader this way. i've seen numerous classics tied the way and evidently it was a norm years ago tohave the gut leader attached to the fly. great tie Bud
