lanvaettir 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 Here's a scan of some Phyllis Dillers. They are the ugliest nymph I know of but ... they work!
Preach 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 Interesting..... Maybe they should have been called......blobs??? Well, I learned a long time ago in flytying....alot of flies catch men.....but no fish! As long as the fish like it....well.....who is to argue? Can you send me the recipe? BTW...thanks for the pic. Fliegenfischer
Guest Report post Posted February 5, 2004 what size hooks are those, they sure are tiny little nymphs. What kind of dubbing is that sqirrel? John
lanvaettir 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2004 I tie Phyllis Dillers on size 16 and 18 barbless scud hooks. I use peacock color antron blend squirrel and dub on a tight body and then tease it out. I've met people who use the same pattern in tan but I've always used green. I always figured that it just looks too good not to eat for the trout. I don't argue with success though! Preach 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 Hello Bestdad, We would love to have you aboard ...but unfortunately we are maxed out on this swap. Keep checking the swap forum and I am sure that you will find another one soon. In fact I think they have a saltwater swap in progress????? This swap filled up fast, so maybe you could host a swap yourself? OSD, hey Sounds good, I like the looks of the Bead head caddis Pupa. Bring it on! Guest Report post Posted February 10, 2004 Hey Preach, I wrote a tutorial a while back explaining how to use our photo gallery and how to post images from the gallery into the forum. Here is the link: http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?sho...=365&hl=gallery I have moved the links since that tutorial and the link for the gallery is now at the top left of the page. I hope it helps
Guest Report post Posted February 10, 2004 I'm actually out of the chenille I used for that one, but the recipe is Skip Morris' Morristone style. I'll get it posted in the database soon. If not this afternoon then tomorrow morning. Soon as I pick up some more chenille I'll make a bunch!
