Catskill style dry fly swap

I will tie a Davidson Special. It is a Cahill style fly with a very pale green blend of fox fur for the body. Size twelve. I have to see if I can get a pale green. The original was dyed fox. He used willow bark to dye the fox fur.

 

Mahlon Davidson was probably the best tier that most have never heard of. He was one of the last to make solid wood fly rods.

 

My fall back will be a blue fox pattern.

Sure, I need the practice on this type of fly.

 

How about a Blue Wing Olive. I think I can do that and still send everyone a fishable fly.

Can you PM me the address to send my flies. I went with the Davidson Special. It is a size 14. Tied them this evening. The fly and the tier are discussed in Harry Darbee's book on fly fishing and tying in the Catskills.
