Birding on my birthday....birds of prey!

Birding is humbling ;p Each time I get out I learn more and more. Thanks to everyone that is helping me improve. Here is Feb 27th, 2008 shots from my birthday expedition.

Nice shots Jay..Looks like a fun time on your birthday...

 

Photos 3 and 4 look like Northern Harriers or also known as Marsh Hawks..The White rump is a good giveaway...

Wow Jay, I could not believe my eyes when I saw all the Bald Eagles together in the tree. Some very awesome shots. I agree with you, birding is very humbling. I guess the trick is to never lose faith in that one perfect shot you will get.

Nice pics. I seen this one and immediately said "dayum....this looks like a tree I know and the Wasatch Mtns in the background" then I looked at your profile and seen you were from UT. :D

 

Can't remember where the tree is at but I've seen pictures and I may even have a couple myself just like it. Its an awesome shot with the contrasting dead tree with eagles perched in it and the background of the mtns.

 

Is the tree by chance at Willard Bay?

Thanks guys. Big E. these shots were taken out on Farmington Bay. I missed the migration peak by a week. I met a couple birders who said they were able to capture 60-70 bald eagles together out on the ice the week before near the river inlet. That would be a really cool shot!!!
