Soft Hackle thorax nymph

A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by sukhoidave:

 

This is a pattern I came up with for a swap from another forum. I liked the amber ones so much I tied up a bunch in other colors.

Dave - Very nice soft hackle nymphs. Could you post the recipe and a couple close-up photos of the amber ones and the ones on the far left side. These look like great. I think the amber one will work well as a golden stonefly imitation. Thanks for sharing. ;)

Sorry it took so long to get this taken care of. I've been doing a lot of work on my custom tools.

 

The original an amber soft hackle thorax nymph -

The pattern recipe-

Curved shank nymph hook

color matching thread.

tail: mallard dyed matching color or teal

underbody: holographic mylar tinsel

body: swannundaze or larva lace

thorax: rabbit dubbing in dubbing loop

hackle: soft hen hackle folded

head: rabbit dubbing in dubbing loop
