Bugger Swap

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone for the great buggers ,they will be well tested next weekend. Exspecialy Big E 's electric bugger which I hope the largemouth up at Toledo Bend will like as much as I do. These are fish that are fished very hard and often and have seen just about everything. I'll post some fin & grin shots if I'm fortunate. the week after.

Hey Swappers,

I was unable to post when my buggers got here and I have been to Erie with them and have already caught some beautiful Steel with a couple. Thanks to all for a wonderful assortment of Buggers and thank you BigE for another great Swap.

Just got in last night, and as a matter of fact Big E your Electric bugger landed me a nice brown on the Taylor Rivier in the Avalanche hole. Although I landed the one, I had at least 5 other strikes on your Black Electric Woolly Bugger (just like sayin it) that I would concider aggrevation strikes, real quick bites as the fly was being stripped throught the water. I decided after that day on the Taylor Im going to start experimenting with stinger hooks hidden in the tail sections of all the buggers I tie. It seemed that the holding browns weren't looking to eat the bugger at times they just didn't like it being pulled through their turf, Im guessin the hits were all little pulls on the tail of the bugger. Next time they'll pay the price for quick hits.

I also lost a nice trout I tried to stop before diving into a rapid in Eleven Mile Canyon that I hooked with Bruce's Black Bugger. Sorry I lost the fly but he was a fat fish and fun for the minute. Luckily I photoed all the buggers incase I lost one.

Sweet. Thanks for the update. Always nice to hear how a fly works. I don't think it would be too difficult to tie in a stinger and have it hide in the marabou. I've never fished the fly yet and just made it up on the vice. I look forward to trying it out on my home waters now.

Nice fish. Looks like you had a fun time.
