mozes 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2004 I'm thinking of getting a float tube for myself. I have a question about the fins. I got a really good pair that I use for scuba and snorkel. They are fairly large and propel me really good . Would something like that work for a float tube?
Guest Report post Posted July 17, 2004 Yup, they'll work fine. I know when I had my float tube (man, seems like eons ago) I had a pair of cheap fins with it. I had a scuba shop on my route (I'm a UPS driver). They gave me a set of returned fins to use. Man, they were sweet, and outdid the POS ones that I bought with my tube. Really scooted me around good (these were ones similar to those used by the Seals). Sold them off when I sold off my tube.
MIKE*A 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2004 I've always used my dive fins......work great!
dabalone 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2004 If you are tubing in shallow weedy water the longer fins can be troublesome for maneuverability. The newer split fin designs work really well.
