"Hula Popper"

Recommended Posts

I remember seeing these lures in my Grandaddy's green, rusted tackle box. Used and abused, the skirts cooked together by the summer sun with monstrous treble hooks dangling beneath the belly, tangled together. They were pretty, in a kind of ugly way. They begged to be restored, brought back to life and then buried in a fish's jaw.

But sometimes old things are better left alone; left to inspire the new.

Here's to you Grandaddy.
