Custom Rod & Largemouth/Smallmouth Flies

Over the past few weeks I have gotten the opportunity to work with Midwest Custom Fly Rods on getting my first custom rod. Steve (steeldrifter) was awesome to work with and the quality of his rod build for me was nothing short of amazing. I had him build me a 9wt Fast Action rod that my primary use with will be on Lake St. Clair up here in MI. I target Musky, Pike, and Smallies. I wanted him to build my rod to match up with with my Aquamarine Allen Alpha II reel and he deff acomplished this. Attached is a pic I stole from Steve but it will give you an idea how awesome it is. I cannot wait to get a line wet and try this bad boy out.

 

I dont build rods (obviously) but I do tie flies, so I tied a couple up for Steve to thank him. Flies are below, enjoy.
