boutdoors 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2012 Being a new tyer I enjoy looking at new patterns, some of if not most patterns I see on this forum don't always list the hook size or type, I think it would help a new tyer like myself to know the size and name of the hook in learning how to be a better tyer. Thanks for all the great looking patterns Robert
Piker20 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2012 I think that its fair to know the style of hook as it will make it easier for you to reproduce a copy to compare. But I also think there are so many companies producing similar hooks you don't want to worry too much about the exact hook but more the style of hook. I always try to give the style, i.e. wet, dry, grub in any patterns but leave the make to how much you want to spend.
