Ddrods 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2012 A box stuffed with UV 2 tying materials from SPIRIT RIVER !!! ...I put the Guardian on it... PT/TB That cat looks exactly like one of the ones that happen to live in the same house as I do. We have 4. I'm thinking of using already shed cat hair to make a fly. We have plenty lying around the house LOL.

FlyFishin'Jam 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 More little hairwings to take for a swing. I really find myself swearing at G.P feathers a lot, they do exactly the opposite of what i want them to do, is there some secret? Tried flattening the stem etc, but they love to roll around and show the dull side.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 I find I take a couple of soft turns over it and then pull tight. Doesn't twist so bad then. try rolling slightly before you lie in place so it gives that covered effect.
FlyFishin'Jam 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Thanks piker20, i might go and pick up a beer or two and give this a try until i get it, lots to learn here! Ultimately one day i'd like to try a Lingren or Gallagher G.P once i have it sussed out, damn fiddly stuff. *edit* just reading online that some people lacquer the feather if doing say the 'Y' shaped eyes
