Material Spring?

Recommended Posts

Attach it well behind the jaws on the high side of the vise. It is used as a material clip to hold longer material attached to the hook for later wrapping etc., out of the way while you work through the earlier stages of the tie. You may end up moving it a few times but eventually you will find a home base for it.

What ever you do do not destroy it and do not throw it away. I was given a vice last summer and it works good. It does not have a material holder and I curse it several times a day. For that reason only, I am going to work hard this summer and buy a good one. I have ideas for a material holder but am to lazy to make one.

You can buy small springs or material clips made for the vises at any good shop. They are very inexpensive, like a couple of bucks but well worth the look

daryn, go to the hardware and get a $.50 spring and make one! A little clipping and twisting and you're all set.

Happy Trail's!

like I said to lazy. The vise is an old Thompson, The kind with the big red handle that tightens and loosens the jaws. I have an idea, Ill show you later
