Markbob 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 I really like the look of wings done that way. Are they as fragile as they look?
AK Skim 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 Are they as fragile as they look? I mostly use Coq De Leon Rooster Cape Hackle and is very durable. I have on earlier ones used Hard as Hull, head cement, and flex cement on the wing to ensure they hold up. As it turns out they are durable enough where I no longer use cement on the fibers. AK Skim 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 The wing can be used on not only on dry flies No Hackle Yellow Sally wet fly. The No Hackle is white Coq De Leon, Yellow Sally is schlappen feather.
FrequentTyer 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2014 Beautiful flies! I just this week got a copy of "Chauncy Lively's Flybox" because I was interested in his early stonefly pattern with the wonder wing. They look to be both beautiful and functional. Mike.
