Bimini15 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2017 I am on a trip and brought tying paraphernalia with me, but I did not have space for a tying desk or even the tool caddy. So I made this one: Super simple, definitely nothing fancy, but a reminder that you don't have to spend much if you are getting started.
FKROW 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2017 Thanks for posting. My old Renzetti foam block tool holder is now approx. $20 retail. Scrap wood and drill press, nice. Regards, FK
islander727 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2017 Yeah, I tried to make one and my wife got really really mad when I drilled holes into the kitchen table. That one looks way better than mine.

FlatsRoamer 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2017 Interesting, I have never used a caddy nor found a need for one. That's just me though..

vicente 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2017 I don't use one either PD, all my tools and thread and hooks and eyes glue etc live in an old tackle box.
Bimini15 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2017 That is what I brought with me on the trip, a small plastic tupperware with a selection of tools, but I found myself fumbling through two or three tools to get to the one I needed. I am used to and like to have a caddy with my tools organized and within reach, even if it is a crappy like this one.
Poopdeck 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2017 An old tackle box sounds like a tool caddy to me. An inefficient caddy but a caddy nonetheless.
