Tried tying with grizzly hackle behind the collar but it didn't really do much for the fly so I ditched it. hook WFC Model 6 #6 thread - UTC 140 black tail - moose body hair rib - tying thread body - deer hair collar - chukar head - deer hair mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark; wrap to bend clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of moose hair; tie in/trim, return thread to 2/3 mark clean, stack, measure (tips just past bend) a clump of deer hair; trim butts at 2/3 mark on shank, tie in/spin pull hair back, evenly distributing along the shank, rib to bend, then cross-rib back to 2/3 mark tie in (folded) chukar feather by tip; wrap, tie off/trim clean, stack, measure (tips to bend) a clump of deer hair; tie in with 2 soft loops, allowing hair to encircle hook, trim butts eve with hook eye, pull tight and spin push hair back, half hitch x 2, SHHAN Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
