When I get a couple of moments I will add some step by step instructions.
  2. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by dfield: Tom Cat
  3. I think I got everyone's name to the right fly. There where some great ties in this swap I thought we would share the images. I can't figure out to make the names of the tiers show, but I think it goes: Beadhead,Capt Matt,Dale, dfield, overbrook and trout bum.
  4. I have received some sweet looking flies for Bruce Williams, but I am not sure who that is. Bruce could you shoot me an IM so I can mark the right tier off the list. thx
  5. All the flies are in and the returns should be going out shortly. great flies guys
  6. I thought I would give a little up date on the sawp. We are waiting for the last set of flies to arive they should be showing up anyday. All the flies are lookers it's very intersting to see the differant approaches to this classic bug. I will let you guys know when last flies get here and try to get them back in the mail ASP.
  7. Robin: I have your flies but they are not toe taged and there is no return postage. I have got you covered but I am trying to ID yeah. Cool flies. help a brother out.
  8. relax preach this swap doesn't even close until the 14th
  9. I just cked I got them really I got them a while back but I mistook them for another swaper based on the name on the ouside.
  10. I am thinking of post pics of the ties as they come in. The flies are so impressive that I would share what a great swap this was. I need some feed backon this idea, I don't want anyone to feel like they didn't get the thrill of opening the tin not knowing what they where going to find. Let me know if you want or don't want them posted.
  11. This Swap is Closed. Thx everyone for joining, the flies are rolling and they are lookers.
  12. I keep an updated status of the swap on the first post. Tier/fly/done/received. It looks like most of us are finished tying and the flies are in the mail. The swap isn’t scheduled to close until mid November. I have noticed that after a few days of sign up it seems like everyone that is going to join has joined. If everyone finishes up and sends their flies I could close the swap early and mail the flies out, if it’s not breaking any more rules. I am going to be on the stream this weekend so it will be Monday before I update again. ps RRSS I got your flies and they are sweet. I haven’t open anyone else flies because it’s like opening your Christmas presents early.
  13. There are some great flies coming in. You know a 90 sec tie is a fish getter, there is still time to join this swap it's one you shouldn't let slip by. Some have joined tied there flies that evening and requested the addy the next morning.
  14. I noticed that your from St louis so I would recomend a #20 glowball (egg) it is the perfect hook for them. It is a deadly fly on the hard hit winter season C&R fish at Montaulk, Mermac and Bennit.
  15. I might not know what I am talking about, but it never stops me from throwing my 2 cents in the bucket. The emergers I fish are size 20 and down, they have a gosse boit or striped peacock body and poly wing. I am not sure what you mean by keeping them up I thouhgt emergers where fished in the surface flim. My little guys aren't going to go down far and I fish them on the swing which tends to pull them to the surface.
  16. After 40 years of tying I decided to go rotary a few months ago. You can find some great deals on the Mongoose, and if you look around you'll find it has good reviews. It does have a lot of nice features, like two bases and a carrying case. I must say one I wonder what in the hell I was waiting for to go rotary, it's like night and day. I like the vise it easily holds hooks for 22 to O2 with an easy adjustment. The only complaint I have is: on mine many of the thumb screws that hold it together keep coming loose which make the vice "play". It's no trouble to reach over and retighten the thing butt’s annoying.
  17. I thought I would mention, Capt matt's improved golden stone is going to be a featured pattern in Hatches. Congrads Capt!!How often do you get a chance to get a published fly tied by the creator? We still have 5 slots left.
  18. Let me see if I can clear up the confusion. I am closing the swap October 20 to new entries. You only need to tie, or send the flies for the total number of entries on the 20th.We are at 7 tiers, so if we don't pick up more entries you would send 7. If you want to send your flies early, you should tie a full swap 12 and I will send your extra flies back.
  19. Yippeee we picked up another golden RDL. We are at 7 so far The swap is a go. You only need to send one fly for each swaper. There is still time if onyone else wants to jump in, if you can get them tied and in the mail by the 24th I should get them N/P. Also most you know Capt Matt has a new little guy who has a empty fly box, if you wanted to throw in a couple ties in honor of this event I will be happy to pass them along with Capt's flies. the Capt might have to test them out of course to make sure they are safe and sound.
  20. Tollet Paper Makes a killer flesh fly. We use make a fly out of old wader strap. the army worm
  21. Preach you seemed to have grown up a bit
